You can completely deactivate the transfer of telematics data between your vehicle and BMW servers if you wish. Technically speaking, this involves deactivating the SIM card installed in the vehicle, thus making it impossible to transfer telematics data from and to the vehicle. If you deactivate the SIM card, the "Intelligent Emergency Call" and all other ConnectedDrive services will not work any more either. Please contact your BMW partner to deactivate the SIM card.

Once you’ve searched for and found your destination via the "Destinations" tab, select it to go to the "Details" screen. From there, tap "Schedule" and select your desired day and time of arrival. You will then receive a notification on your device when it’s time to leave for that destination in order to arrive on time given current traffic conditions. On devices with smaller screens, you may need to swipe up to see the "Schedule" option.

To be able to use BMW CarData your service partner need to make use of BMW CarData. This requires a technical system link to BMW CarData. As soon as this has been installed, third parties can request release of your telematics data. The portal for third parties explains in detail how this works. Not all telematics data can be retrieved via BMW CarData, as a lot of the telematics data are only used for ConnectedDrive services, such as the "Real Time Traffic Information" service, and are thus not stored on BMW servers or only in anonymised form. Telematics data are only stored by BMW for a limited period and then deleted, once the statutorily specified period has expired.

If you have activated the "Community Data" data transmission, your driving and usage data will be added in anonymised form to a worldwide data pool for BMW i drivers. Only on the basis of this data pool is it possible to determine meaningful reference values. Your data are subject to strict data protection provisions and cannot be viewed or evaluated publicly.

With the service news on your personal fields of interest can be displayed in the vehicle. Receive selected news from blogs, websites or from certain news magazine areas. You can select up to 20 different news feeds at once. In order to do so access the BMW ConnectedDrive Portal and select "Remote Cockpit" then "Control" and "New Newsfeed" and enter the internet adress of the newsfeed in the line "URL". Following this, select a name for the newsfeed and press "Save".

BMW Car Data refers to so called telematics data that is sent by your vehicle to BMW servers and saved there in line with BMW ConnectedDrive Services. You are able to allow third parties to access BMW Car Data. You can revoke this access grant at any time. A Car Data archive can be requested at any time.
