Select "Settings" then "Driver Profiles" in the main menu. Here you will find the three personal driver profiles and the guest profile. The profile that is currently used is marked with a green tick. Now select export via USB, connect a storage medium and press "OK". We recommend the use of a USB storage medium in the "FAT32" or "exFAT" format.

Check in the BMW Connected App, if the menu “Digital Key” is displayed. If the menu is available, your vehicle is able to use the Digital Key. Note: You must be logged in to your BMW ConnectedDrive Account in the BMW Connected App and your vehicle must be added to your account. Alternatively:  Check if the option “Comfort Access (SA 322)” in connection with a Navigation System “Live Cockpit (SA 6U1/6U2/6U3)” is booked for your vehicle. If these options are booked for your vehicle the Digital Key is available in your BMW.

Under “Manage mobile devices”, make sure that your smartphone is paired correctly and the function “Phone” is activated for the connected device. Incoming calls are now received via the iDrive System. In the menu “Communication” outgoing calls can be made by selecting either “Contacts”, “Recent calls” or “Dial number”. For the phone function your BMW’s audio reproduction and microphone is used.

A BMW vehicle (Models from 07/18) with a “Live Cockpit (SA 6U1/6U2/6U3)” Navigation System is required. The option “Comfort Access (SA 322)” is required.

The use of the internet in your BMW on the front screen is also possible while not in motion. As soon as you are driving your BMW will switch off all contents. By booking the option "Rear Seat Entertainment" the internet can be used in the rear while driving.

If the message "Connection not possible" repeatedly appears in your vehicle when you try to execute various BMW ConnectedDrive services, please first make sure if your vehicle is connected to the mobile network. This is often the case in underground parking garages for example. Is this not the case, please contact your BMW Service partner.

You have to download the application onto your mobile end device before you can use the BMW Connected App in the vehicle. In the case of an Apple iPhone, please use the Apple App Store for this purpose, in the case of an Android phone download is via the Google Play Store.

Your individual settings will automatically be saved in a profile and assigned to the used remote key upon leaving the vehicle. When reusing the same remote key for the vehicle the assigned settings are automatically set in the vehicle. Driver profiles are part of BMW ConnectedDrive. They combine various settings for radio stations, Hi-Fi systems, navigation, favorites buttons, seats, mirrors, seering column, camera, lights, central door locking, head-up display, air conditioning, language, driving assistance systems and driveability. You can use up to three driver profiles as well as one guest profile. The different driver profiles can be selected via the control display from the onboard computer. Here it is possible to rename, delete or export your profile on to a USB stick in order to use it in another BMW. With certain older BMW models driver profiles cannot be viewed in the vehicle.

In the vehicle, select "ConnectedDrive" to find a list of all available smartphone apps supported by the function "BMW Apps". Select one of the displayed apps to use the app in the vehicle.

For security reasons, the security token is only valid for four hours. Once a new security token is requested previously requested tokens become invalid. Therefore it is not recommended to request several tokens within a short period of time.

You can use personalized services in your BMW by logging in to the BMW ConnectedDrive Portal with your access data in your vehicle. In order to do so select the menu point "ConnectedDrive" in the main menu and then select "BMW Online". Now press the "Option" button on your iDrive Controller. Then select the menu point "Login". Here, first insert your e-mail address and confirm with "OK". Following this enter your password and again confirm with "OK". We recommend to enable "Auto-login" by checking the box next to it. Please note however, that this will enable every vehicle user to access your personal data (e-mail, address book, etc.).

If available the number of persons in the vehicle is determined via a seat occupation recognition technology (on the passengers' side in the front). If not available the seat belt status is used (also for the back row).

Your vehicle must be telematics-enabled and it must be allocated to your customer account in the ConnectedDrive Portal. All important telematics data that were transferred to and stored on a BMW server from this time onwards are accessible to BMW CarData.
